RS-0702: Down locking Reel Seat turned from Eastern Red (or Incense) Cedar and inlaid in a Steelhead pattern of my own design, with the body of Mammoth Ivory and the fins of Abalone. The slip ring of Nickel Alloy is fabricated and hand turned on a lathe and is ornamented with an 18K gold wire, hand worked with a mil-grain texture. The heads of the Nickel Alloy rivets are of 22K Gold. The transition ring is turned of Manzanita Burl. The wood in this seat has been impregnated with a polymer.

I find it perplexing that over the years,more reel seats have not been turned of our native Eastern Red (incense) Cedar. I find it to be a beautiful and interesting wood with it's patches and lines of yellow on an earthy, red background.
