Mexican, Gem Fire-Opal is, without doubt, the most colorful opal on the planet. It comes in a range of body colors ranging from water clear to yellow, all shades of orange grading to a firey red-orange and even red. In addition, it also comes iin a reddish brown and an opaque white base color. All of my fire opal exhibits the quality referred to in the United States as "play of color," the internal display of color caused by the refraction of light. In Australia this is known as "fire." Opal possessing this quality is known as "gem opal." In these opal carvings you will see a range of color play from low intensity to riotous.
